July 5, 2010 – Kingdom Kids’ First Annual Golf Tournament was a success raising $12,361. This means we got to send a family to Disney for a week, which helped grant the 9 year old Jared’s lifelong wish! Thank you for your tremendous support!

Kingdom Kids and the Georgia Garrison 501st Legion Star Wars Costuming Organization teamed up to make a very memorable day at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. The children had a wonderful time as they were given instruction from two Jedi Knights on Light saber handling. All new Jedi’s were issued homemade robes and light sabers. And it was a good thing too, because Darth Vader along Storm Troopers came in to battle the Jedi. The children enjoyed some very rare 1 on 1 time with all of the characters and got autographs and photos.

Kingdom Kids and the Gwinnett Gladiators teamed up to offer an outstanding fundraising opportunity! There were 135 in attendance for Kingdom Kids. We had 3 children and their families who are receiving treatment at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta who came and had a box suite for the game, got to tour the locker room, meet the players, get game used and autographed pucks and shirts, as well as give high fives to them all before taking the ice!

Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament held at the 1818 Club raised $13,404. Thank you for your support!

Lily’s Run raised over $90,000 with over 1,000 runners in attendance. Thank you to all participants, vendors and corporate sponsors.

15 teenagers receiving treatment at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta were able to attend a Braves game with food, tickets, and all provided for them thanks to your donations and support of Kingdom Kids! This event gave them the much needed break and made some real memories. One young lady was able to attend her first baseball game ever while another young man experienced his first night out since he was diagnosed ten months ago.

Today was our second No Limit Texas Hold’em Poker event at Mazzy’s restaurant in Norcross. With over 60 attendees, we raised over $3,600! Partially responsible for that is a new and innovative idea in the fundraising world, Brian Rossi, Division President of Lonesource, Inc came up with for us. It allowed us to align specific wishes made by children currently receiving treatment at the Aflac Cancer Center and a cost so instead of donating blindly to the event, our attendees were able to see exactly where their money would go! This idea alone was responsible for over $1700 so thanks Brian!

This was our first poker tournament so considering that, we were very pleased with the 65 player turn out and over $2200 is funds raised. It was a very fun event and a big thank you goes out to Mazzy’s Restaurant in Norcross as well as Bar Games Promotions who ran the event for us very smoothly. It’s really amazing that people can get together and have a blast while helping local children in need.
